  Maxim Vengerov

  A further five masterclasses given by Maxim Vengerov have been filmed. Sarasate’s virtuoso “Carmen Fantasy”; Shostakovitch’s Violin Concerto No 1; Britten’s Violin Concerto; Strauss’ Violin Sonata in E Flat major, Op 18 and Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No 7 in C minor will all be released later in 2008.

  Joan Rodgers

  Two masterclasses given by the soprano Joan Rodgers with singers from British Youth Opera, including Tatiana’s Letter Scene and Olga’s Aria from Eugene Onegin, the Jewel Song from Gounod’s “Faust”, the Count’s Aria from Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro” and Pamina’s aria “Ach, ich fühls” from The Magic Flute. In a second masterclass, Joan Rodgers works on staging of a scene from “The Marriage of Figaro” and the opening scene of Richard Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier”.
  In addition, more masterclasses by Frans Helmerson (Cello), Zakhar Bron (Maxim Vengerov’s teacher), Gábor Takács-Nagy (Chamber Music) and Claude Frank (Piano) are in the pipeline.
